^{This mid-August weekend is high season at Central Oregon's premier vacation getaway – Sunriver Resort. Sunriver is a planned private residential and resort community 15 miles south of Bend (89,000 population) in Deschutes County.  Located at the base of the Cascade Mountains, Sunriver's 3,300 acres wind along the eastern side of the Deschutes River.  Located in Sunriver are 35 miles of pathways for bicycle riders and pedestrians, two swimming pools, 26 tennis courts, two parks, two golf courses and the Village at Sunriver (location of the Sunriver Art Faire.  This community is home to more than 4,000 privately owned residences and has a permanent population of approximately 1,700.  Surrounding residential community adds an additional 7,000 households.  During peak vacation season, upwards of 20,000 visitors are common.}
